A journey through the flavours of Africa and Sicilian influences

Our menu is a mosaic of flavors that brings together Senegalese and Malian traditions with a Sicilian twist. Each dish is designed to tell a story — a story of a land, a culture, and the people who live there.
You’ll discover authentic recipes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a special focus on quality.

Our main dishes

Domoda Yapp

A traditional Senegalese dish, Domoda is a hearty meat stew served in a thick vegetable-based sauce. Made with broken white rice, it represents the essence of African cuisine: simple, nourishing, and full of flavor.

Thiep Bou Djen

Considered Senegal’s national dish and listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, this rice dish with fish, vegetables, and the typical Beugheudj sauce is an explosion of flavors. Every bite tells the story of the connection between sea and land.

Zuppa del maestro

Created by Doudou, the Master's Soup blends African spices with Mediterranean vegetables and tender bites of meat. Perfect for cold winter evenings, it’s a true example of how Ciwara’s cuisine brings together distant traditions.

Mafe

Tender meat bites wrapped in a creamy peanut butter and tomato sauce, served with white rice. A dish that warms the heart and delights the palate.

The origins and touch of Doudou

Every dish is born from a personal or collective story. With his experience and creativity, Doudou has reimagined some traditional recipes, adding his own unique touch.
The “Master’s Soup,” for example, was created during the COVID pandemic to bring relief from the joint pain caused by the virus. Packed with ginger, it’s a perfect remedy for flu-like symptoms.
It was born during an evening of experimentation, blending African and Sicilian ingredients to create a dish with an unmistakable flavor.

African Cocktails and Drinks

To accompany the dishes, Ciwara’s menu offers a selection of traditional drinks and cocktails inspired by African flavors.
